In order to promote tourism, conventions, special events, and trade shows within the area, the CVB offers the following services:
Public Relations
The Convention & Visitors Bureau maintains a database of travel writers and media contacts, responds to media requests for information on Rabun County, facilitates press visits to Rabun County, and notifies media of upcoming events.
We create and refresh content on websites with links to, or information about, our tourism assets in Rabun County.
The CVB provides press kits, publicity copy, images, media placement assistance, and promotional services to event planners to help build attendance for upcoming events.
Group Tours
The Convention & Visitors Bureau works with special event and travel planners, tour operators and meeting planners to customize group tours for special interests. Many of Rabun County’s accommodations & restaurants offer special group rates and discounts. We can provide greeters and arrange for reception and step-on guide service for motor coach tours with advance notice.
Meeting & Convention Planning
Bid packets: Save time by asking us to prepare a customized proposal with room rates and availability, letters of invitation, and suggested activities in a complete, coordinated package.
Bid presentation: Make an informed decision about your next meeting location. Invite us to attend your site selection meeting to answer any questions your group may have and provide support for all that Rabun County has to offer your group.
Auxiliary services: Know who to call for professional services such as florists, caterers, speakers, and entertainers.
Extracurricular activities: Let us organize your group fun-raising events such as golf and tennis tournaments, hiking, trout fishing, shopping and antique excursions, whitewater rafting, wine highway tours, wine tastings at the vineyards, and special arts & crafts classes celebrating our mountain heritage. We also obtain group discounts for your group to attend festivals, performances, and special events.
Transportation services: We can provide contacts for transportation to and from the Atlanta, Asheville and Greenville airports, as well as our regional private airports located in Cornelia, Toccoa, Gainesville, Rabun County, and Franklin. With advance notice, we can assist in making shuttle arrangements between area hotels and event venues.
Advance publicity: Build meeting and event attendance with our help. We can provide publicity copy, images, media placement, and promotional assistance.
Welcome Table/Registration Assistance: Local volunteers will welcome your attendees, assist with registration, and provide information on local attractions, dining and entertainment.
