Panoramic mountain vistas, country ambiance, and some of the friendliest and most hospitable people in the world await your arrival in Rabun County.

Nestled in the southern tip of the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains in Northeast Georgia, Rabun County is a convenient drive from the major metro areas of Atlanta, Asheville, Greenville and Chattanooga, and is a convenient hub for day trips to other nearby places and attractions in the Northeast Georgia Mountains and Southwestern North Carolina.

The Eastern Continental Divide runs though Rabun County, giving it a unique geographical personality. Rabun County is bounded on the west by the mountain ridges of the Appalachian Trail, and on the east by the Chattooga River. The Tallulah River, which flows through Lakes Burton, Seed and Rabun to join the Tugaloo River, forms a central pass through the mountains. The mountain towns and communities of Rabun County align along a corridor known as the "Gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains."

From the highest valley to the deepest gorge - come explore everything in-between . . . majestic mountains, shimmering lakes, roaring waterfalls, cool springs, lush forests, award winning vineyards, roadside stands, festivals, trails, arts & antiques, history, a wild and scenic river -- the land, the culture and the people of Rabun await you. Come to relax, or come to be thrilled! Come to enjoy! Make the most out of your visit to Georgia’s mountain destination!
