In additional to creating moments of film stardom for local personalities, and establishing Rabun County as the film capital of Georgia, Hollywood has stimulated the local economy when Deliverance catalyzed the whitewater rafting industry, which now attracts more than 20,000 tourists and contributes three million dollars to the local economy annually.
