Research - Education
One of the greatest benefits to living in Rabun County is our excellent educational system – both public and private. All of our public schools made adequate yearly progress for 2009. Most of our students at all grade levels also tested for the highest “Meets + Exceeds” level of performance. Graduation rates are high in Rabun County, with a 2009 graduation rate of 86% at Rabun County High School. The average graduation rate in Georgia for 2009 is 78.9%.
Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School is a private boarding and day school for grades 6-12 that boasts a 100% college acceptance rate among its students. This school has about 350 student enrolled and about 20% are international. In addition to a strong emphasis on academics and faith, Rabun Gap also has a thriving arts program, known for their unique Cirque performances, and a competitive sports program with baseball, soccer, football, and volleyball among many others. Tallulah Falls School is a private boarding school for grades 6-12 with a rigorous approach of testing and extracurricular activities. Its enrollment is approximately 180 students, of which 20% are international. Almost 140 of its students are boarders. All of their teaching staff holds a bachelor’s degree and most (72%) hold advanced degrees.
