Hunting

Rabun County’s abundance of dramatic scenery and rich wildlife makes it a favorite of hunting enthusiasts throughout the southeast. The County is home to two Wildlife Management Areas within the Chattahoochee National Forest.
The Warwoman WMA, located in the northeastern corner of the county, boasts 15,800 acres of hunting land and the Lake Burton WMA, located in western Rabun County, has 12,600 acres. Both areas provide hunting opportunities for:
  • Deer
  • Wild boar
  • Bear
  • Turkey
  • Various small game
